Darul Makmur Stadium in Pahang is nearing completion of its upgrade, with the installation of Bermuda Tifgrand grass and other improvements, set for full operation by March 2024. The stadium's executive councillor provided details on the new grass and overall project progress.
Darul Makmur Stadium is expected to be fully operational by March next year, following the recent replacement of its grass with Bermuda Tifgrand . State executive councillor Fadzli Mohamad Kamal, who oversees Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports , and Non-Governmental Bodies, highlighted that the newly imported grass from Japan is more durable and resilient than the previous Cow Grass. The grass was planted last Wednesday and is suitable for the current rainy season.
The stadium’s upgrading project, which includes painting, drainage system replacement, signage installation, and toilet and prayer room repairs, has been completed at a cost of RM1.1 million from the Pahang government and a RM500,000 grant from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. However, additional funding of RM7 million is required for roof repairs and floodlight replacement
