Sources claim that the government has agreed to renew Lynas Malaysia’s licence for another three years.

The Bentong MP said the energy, science, technology, environment and climate change ministry would have “hastily” extended the operating licence based on “lies, manipulations, misleading information and propaganda” among others. He reiterated that Lynas’s radioactive waste was unsafe and radioactive contamination was the most extreme environmental hazard.

“The AELB and DoE have failed the people all these years. Failure to exercise their duties as regulators is a serious crime against humanity,” he said in a statement.
