Outgoing Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is hours away from qualifying for a massive taxpayer-funded pension.
Mr Andrews was first elected to office in 2002 and has spent almost nine years as premier and 13 years as the leader of the Victorian Labor Party.

Mr Andrews became the highest paid premier in the nation after Victorian MPs received a pay increase of 3.5 per cent in July. It brought his annual salary up to $481,000.Mr Andrews told reporters at his resignation press conference on Tuesday he plans to take time off to spend with his family, play golf and read.
“Every waking moment is about the work and there's only so long you can do that for so I'm looking forward to a very different place and doing different things.”
