Damien Duff wore an Irish/Palestinian flag pin during Shelbourne’s 2-0 win over Bohemians on Friday night, becoming the latest Irish sporting figure to show solidarity with Palestine.

Irish Sport For Palestine is a movement that has grown rapidly in recent months, in the wake of Israel’s bombing of Gaza, which was in response to a Hamas attack on October 7.Leading figures in the worlds of GAA, boxing and rugby have gotten behind the movement. Duff and O’Brien are the latest footballing personalities to show solidarity, while last Friday’s opponents Bohs will host the Palestinian women’s national team in a historic friendly at Dalymount Park on May 15.
