JOHOR BARU: The current infrastructure in Johor Baru should be re-evaluated and studied to ensure that it can adapt to the changes in weather in the future.
Johor Baru City Council mayor Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman said the council also makes daily checks at 36 hotspots or flood-prone areas in the city to ensure all of the drainage systems are clean.
“Even our daily rainfall reading has gone up to 100mm from the usual 30mm,” he said when met by reporters after a tree-planting programme at Sungai Sri Buntan, Bandar Baru Uda here on Friday . Meanwhile, on the programme, Mohd Noorazam said it was conducted with the help of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad as part of the company's corporate social responsibility initiative.
