For now, it looks as though parliament will later today vote to ask the EU for a short delay to Brexit; votes on other options could also be scheduled. Amid confusion over amendments to the government’s vote last night, parliament eventually voted narrowly against a ‘no deal’ Brexit at any stage – not just March 29 as the original motion suggested.
