Local leaders reacted to the ambush shooting of five teenagers who police say had just left a high school football scrimmage when they were shot. One of the victims, a 14-year-old, died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest. The City of Philadelphia has reached 400 homicides so far for 2022, a slight increase from the bloodshed seen in 2021. and said the city is dealing with the "worst spike" in gun violence over the last two-and-a-half years.
