The 2023-2024 Cy-Fair ISD instructional calendar was approved by the board of trustees on Jan. 12.
The calendar for the year was constructed by a committee formed in 2022 including parents, teachers, community members and other staff, a press release details. The group met several times to discuss the calendar before reaching a consensus.The calendar committee made the calendar under the guidelines that the year must include 75,600 minutes and that the school year cannot begin before the fourth Monday of August.
Included in the calendar are the first day of school, Aug. 28; the Labor Day holiday on Sept. 4; Thanksgiving break, Nov. 20-24; winter break from Dec. 22, 2023-Jan. 5, 2024; spring break taking place from March 11-15, 2024; Good Friday on March 29, 2024; and Memorial Day on May 27, 2024. The school year will conclude May 31, 2024.
