Overall, the median for single-family homes increased by $10,000 to $165,000 in 2022, marking the 10th straight year of gains.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Median home prices were up in nearly every community in Cuyahoga County last year, from east to west and from lower to higher priced cities and villages.
The price increases came amid one of the most competitive housing markets in recent memory, with countless bidding wars and buyers paying way over asking price in some cases. Where there were at least 50 sales, East Cleveland had the biggest gain by percent, up 37% to $30,350. And Maple Heights, with a median price of $98,000, had the fourth highest gain at 21% from 2021.
The analysis excluded sheriff’s sales, small-dollar transactions of less than $1,000 and sales that involved more than one piece of land, to get a better idea of the normal buyer-seller market.The largest gains by dollar amount, according to cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer data, were in Moreland Hills, which saw a $167,000 increase from 2021 to $694,500, and Pepper Pike’s median increase of $100,000 to $605,000.
