Set after the blood-soaked conclusion of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, this production focuses on two servants charged with cleaning up the aftermath.

“By taking the most gruesome Shakespeare tragedy as source material, Gary reckons with how we can transform the unredeemable mess of our world into something beautiful,” said OTP Co-Artistic Director Michael Socrates Moran. “At once a critique of the massacres wrought throughout world history and a paean to the power of theater and its ability to inspire hope, this comedy is transgressive, fun, hilarious and extraordinarily gentle.”It runs Friday-Oct.

Langbehn also created the set, which included the nine fabulous musicians on stage on various levels with the performers having risers on the opposite of the stage as well as center stage for action. Langbehn and Kobori keep the movements plentiful as songs and patter intersperse the videos. Sondheim On Sondheim continues through Sunday at 951 Pomona St., El Cerrito.
