New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo called for shutdowns in hotspot states and a federal mask mandate
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo speaks during a COVID-19 briefing in New York City.“I think a shutdown [is needed] in certain states,” Cuomo said during the interview, adding that “one state gets it under control, but then people from another state come in — if you don't solve this everywhere, you don't solve it anywhere.”
“New York had the worst infection rate per capita than any country on the globe, now we have the lowest infection rates. We’ve done a quarantine against the 31 highest states in terms of rate of infection,” Cuomo said during the interview.
