PETALING JAYA: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) hopes the new Cabinet would be able to work together with public servants to bring the nation forward.
Its secretary-general Abdul Rahman Mohd Nordin said he saw no issue with the mix of new and older faces in the Cabinet line-up.“We hope the ministers will cooperate with public servants and perform their duties for the interest of the nation,” he added.
Commenting on the appointment of Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has an impending court case, as Deputy Prime Minister, Abdul Rahman said the former prime minister remains innocent until proven guilty. Malaysian Employers Federation president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said the new Cabinet members have a vast knowledge of current issues, and he believed that the ministers would put the people’s interests as priority.
