A man was critically injured when he was driving his vehicle in the wrong direction on a northwest Harris County road, setting off a five-vehicle crash, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. A man driving a Slingshot was traveling west in an east lane of Farm to Market Road 529 Saturday night, accident investigator Mohammad Amad told On Scene reporters. The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was not expected to survive as of Saturday night. The occupants of the four other vehicles did not report any injuries.Harris County deputies responded to the crash near the 13000 block of Farm to Market Road 529 around 8:30 p.m.
It was not immediately clear whether investigators believe driver impairment was a contributing factor in the crash.
