CRISPIN 'Ping' Remulla was proclaimed the winner of the special election for the 7th congressional district of Cavite held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
He will replace his father, Jesus Crispin Remulla, who was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as Justice secretary.The younger Remulla, who was elected provincial board member last May, got 98,474 votes, or 66.67 percent of the total number of voters, based on the official count of the Commission on Elections .
His closest rival, independent candidate Jun Sagun, got 46,530 votes. The other bets, Lito Aguinaldo and Mike Santos, received 1,610 and 1,068 votes, respectively.The Comelec said 149,581 of the 355,184 registered voters in Amadeo, Trece Martires City, Indang, and Tanza cast their ballots in the special elections.Remulla ran under the National Unity Party.
