A dispute between two Nepalese workers over a past cricket match escalated into violence, resulting in a stabbing at a poultry processing plant dormitory in Jasin, Melaka. The 23-year-old suspect, who was also injured during the altercation, allegedly stabbed the 28-year-old victim while he was sleeping. The argument stemmed from the outcome of a cricket match held in Kathmandu two months prior. Police have detained the suspect and are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous harm with intent using a weapon.

“The argument started when the two men were discussing the outcome of a cricket match held two months ago in Kathmandu, Nepal,” he said on Saturday . "Frustrated over the result, both the suspect and victim had a heated argument earlier before the former allegedly stabbed his countryman with a kitchen knife while he was asleep at the dormitory in Pondok Kempas in Jasin, here," he said.
