The stone farmhouse developed in 1747, considered possibly the oldest structure in Silver Spring Township relocated on Tuesday morning.
on Tuesday morning as the historic Junkin House in Silver Spring Township was relocated just a few feet from where the structure formerly stood.
The house was moved due to the wall along the road beginning to deteriorate. The relocation will provide more stability for the building’s structure and will allow a spacious parking area for visitors. In September 2022, HSS Investors donated $50,000 to assist with the land development and the construction of the house foundation, which allowed for it to be moved to the new location.
