The Dallas Cowboys and linebacker Micah Parsons took down the Giants, 40-0, in Sunday's season opener.
is already looking forward to his next chance to take down a New York quarterback. And that opportunity will come very soon.. After the 40-0 prime-time win for the Cowboys, Parsons brought up his upcoming Week 2 home opener against the Jets and their hyped new quarterback.
“I think we’re making a statement which I’ve been trying to make,” Parsons said. “We’re the best defense in the National Football League.” The Cowboys grabbed the momentum early when rookie center John Michael Schmitz fumbled a snap that Jones recovered for a loss of nine yards. A play later, the Cowboys blocked a field goal attempt, allowing Noah Igbinoghene to recover the ball and return it for the first Dallas touchdown of the night.The Cowboys never got comfortable and instead capitalized on sloppy Giants play to continue pulling away with the game.
Parsons is now looking ahead to the next New York opponent and the four-time MVP quarterback that comes along with it.The Jets’ offensive line, which will beMonday night, will need to show up big time to protect its quarterback from Parsons and what he believes to be the best defense in the league.
