Trent Strickland is doing fine now, but a serious blood clot almost took the life of the 28-year-old from Shepherd—a result, his doctors say, of COVID.
His wife urged him to get to an emergency room. When he arrived at the urgent care center, they immediately admitted him in the emergency room and discovered his leg was now swollen twice the size of his calf. Walking was difficult and painful.He was experiencing some fever and on Tuesday found out the results of his ultrasound tests.
He was home for about a week before returning to light duty at work. Strickland said he was grateful that he was able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with his wife and family. Khalaf is the first in north Houston to use a new device and process called the Inari ClotTriever Thrombectomy. He jokingly calls himself a plumber of sorts.Traditionally, Khalaf said very few doctors wanted to intervene with DVT except to treat it with medicine only.
