PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,684 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Aug 6), says the Health Ministry.

According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 4,679 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 5 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,705,824 cases since the pandemic began. A total of 11 deaths were recorded on Saturday with 1 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,020.
