According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 1,975 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 2 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,815,679 cases since the pandemic began. A total of 6 deaths were recorded on Friday with 2 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,305.
