PETALING JAYA: Malaysia detected 1,591 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (June 4), bringing the cumulative number of infections in the country to 4,513,631 since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry's CovidNow portal reported that 1,586 of Saturday's new cases were local transmissions while there were five imported infections.
A total of 21,480 of Saturday's active cases, or 95.7%, are observing home quarantine while 18 individuals, or 0.1%, are at Quarantine and Treatment Centres throughout the country. Some 27 individuals are currently being treated at intensive care units nationwide, with 17 requiring ventilator support.
