ALOR SETAR: A new positive Covid-19 case was reported on Wednesday (May 20), when a Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) student was tested positive at a Covid-19 screening conducted on the campus in Sintok in preparation for students returning to their home state of Sabah.

It was understood that the female student was then transferred to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar and placed under quarantine.Kubang Pasu District Health Office is conducting an investigation including tracing and detecting close contacts of the student.The state had been declared a green zone state by the Health Ministry.said 287 UUM students were screened and a female student tested positive.

JKN Kedah, in a statement on its Facebook page, confirmed a new positive case of Covid-19 was reported in Kubang Pasu.
