PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia reported 78 more Covid-19 cases on Friday (May 22), bringing the country’s total infections to 7,137.
Out of the 78 new cases, 25 were imported cases while the others were local transmissions, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced at the Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 media briefing Friday afternoon.
There were also 25 more cases from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot cluster, in addition to the 35 announced the day before. Dr Noor Hisham also said 63 more patients had been discharged, which means 5,859 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.There are 1,163 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities at present.Dr Noor Hisham also announced one new death, taking the country’s death toll to 115.
The 115th death case is a 65-year-old man with a background of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease.Article type: free
