MELAKA: Health authorities here have confirmed three Covid-19 cases involving children in the state.

State health and anti-drug committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman said the youngest was a three-year-old from Tanjung Minyak.He was commenting on talk among locals that Covid-19 cases have started to rise among children in the state.

Rahmad said state health officials are still trying to determine how the children had contracted the coronavirus. Separately, he said swab tests had also been conducted on 52 students at a primary and secondary school in Lubok China here after two siblings - a Form Two student and his brother in Primary Six tested positive for Covid-19.Rahmad said the preventive measure was initiated at both schools as they are located only 100m away from each other.

He added that both brothers are from Negri Sembilan and are currently being treated at Seremban Hospital.
