PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded six new Covid-19 cases on Friday (June 19), taking the total number of infections in the country to 8,535.
Of the six cases, two are imported cases involving one Malaysian and one permanent resident who were infected with the virus abroad, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at the ministry’s Covid-19 press conference here Friday.Dr Noor Hisham also said 70 cases have been discharged, which means 8,070 patients have recovered from Covid-19 since the outbreak began.There are now only 344 active cases left being treated at health facilities nationwide.
Currently, there are three patients treated at intensive care units and none are on ventilator support.He also announced a new cluster in Kidurong, Bintulu, Sarawak, where six positive cases have been detected so far.
