SIBU: The district is ready to start home isolation of certain low-risk positive Covid-19 cases as it has achieved a high vaccination rate.

As of Wednesday , 231,348 people or 91.6% of the vaccine-eligible population in Sibu district had received at least one dose of vaccine and 223,825 had completed both doses.

He added that the criteria for home isolation is very strict and a careful assessment by doctors at Covid-19 Assessment Centres will be carried out before patients are allowed to quarantine at home. "They should not leave their quarantine location and must notify the doctors in charge if they become sickly or have trouble breathing.

Dr Teh said in case of emergency, patients may contact Hospital Sibu at 084-343 333, extension 1162 for ambulance service. For other enquiries, the Hospital Sibu Covid-19 helpline is at 084-348 676.
