Covid-19: Sarawak reports 581 new cases, seven clusters on Sunday (Aug 8)

SIBU: Sarawak detected seven new clusters and recorded 581 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Aug 8).

These new clusters contributed a total of 113 new cases. Of the seven, four were in Kuching with one each in Sibu, Lundu and Tatau.

Districts with cases in the double digits were Serian , Sri Aman , Samarahan , Bau , Bintulu , Sibu , Selangau , Tatau , and Miri and Lundu . The committee added that of the 581 new cases, 269 were detected from screenings of individuals who had contact with positive cases; 109 from screenings of individuals from active clusters; 52 from screenings of symptomatic individuals at health facilities; and 145 from other screenings at health facilities.
