IPOH: The Perak Welfare Department will continue to carry out spot checks on kindergartens, and daycare centres to ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, says Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin.

The state Women Development, Family and Social Welfare Committee chairman said the department had already carried out spot checks 60 times on kindergartens and 47 times on daycare centres in the state.

“However, spot checks will be continued from time to time as we don’t want the management of such centres to slack when it comes to the SOPs, because children are in the high risk category of being infected by viruses, ” she told a press conference after visiting Tadika Kinderjoy here Tuesday .
