Malaysia records 277 COVID-19 deaths today bringing the death toll close to 12,000. Sarawak and Labuan with over 55% fully vaccinated rate recorded zero deaths today.
Malaysia has recorded 21,468 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 1,363,683. There are 277 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 11,968. In August so far, there are 2,944 deaths recorded which is an average of 226.5 deaths per day.
The Ministry of Health has reported 17,025 new recoveries and a total of 1,110,528 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.44% while the mortality rate is now 0.88%. There are currently 241,187 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 1,075 are in ICU while 537 require respiratory support.
