Malaysia reported 38 new Covid19 cases in a 24 hour-span as of Monday noon, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 7,857. Read more at

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the 38 news cases, 26 were imported.

He said the 26 imported cases were of infections that happened abroad, while the 12 local transmitted cases involved six foreigners and six Malaysians. He added that the country saw no Covid-19 deaths for the 10 consecutive day, keeping the death toll at 115. Dr Noor Hisham also said 51 patients had recovered with total of 6,404 patients discharged since the Covid-19 outbreak began.There are now 1,338 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities at present.

Currently, there are eight patients being treated at intensive care units , with two of them on ventilator support.
