COVID-19: New cases jump close to 7,000 today after a month of 'total lockdown'

There are 84 COVID-19 deaths reported today and 55% of new cases are from the Klang Valley. 11 out of 21 new clusters identified today are workplace-related.

Malaysia has recorded 6,988 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 758,967. There are 84 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,254. According to the breakdown, 31 deaths reported today are aged below 60 years old and there are 9 deaths that are brought-in-dead. Out of today’s fatalities, 19 had no comorbidities.

There are currently 65,453 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 917 are in ICU while 445 require respiratory support.
