KOTA KINABALU: Mass testing for Covid-19 among the general public will be the best way forward to go beyond the movement control order (MCO), says state Health and Well-being Minister Datuk Frankie Poon.
He said the use of rapid tests could be carried out on targeted groups, before other members of the general public are tested.
“The main concern is when can we have mass testing, ” he said when asked about measures to be taken with Kota Kinabalu being put under the red zone with 42 cases recorded on Thursday . Poon noted that there were 35% sporadic cases in Kota Kinabalu, and it was a clear reflection of the need for mass testing.Sabah Health Department director Datuk Christina Rundi had explained that the sporadic cases were detected in Kota Kinabalu Women and Children Hospital in Likas here, and those involved have been isolated.
