PETALING JAYA: Malaysia detected 244 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday (Jan 15) bringing the total number of cases in the country to 5,032,677 since the pandemic began, says the Health Ministry.
The ministry's KKMNow portal reported that 242 of Sunday's new Covid-19 cases were locally transmitted while there were 2 imported infections.
There are currently 10,477 active Covid-19 cases in the country, with 10,008, or 95.5%, patients observing home quarantine. Of those in ICU as at 11.59pm Sunday, 11 were unventilated while 9 individuals required ventilator support.
