Covid-19: 88 new cases bring total to 5,691, death toll now at 96

Malaysia reported 88 more Covid-19 cases on Friday (April 24), bringing the total number of Covid19 infections in the country to 5,691. Read more:

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced this at the Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 media briefing on Friday evening.

There are currently 41 patients being treated at intensive care units with 18 on ventilator support. On the new death case, Dr Noor Hisham said the 96th fatality is a 61-year-old Malaysian man who had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney problems.He has been receiving treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital since March 31 and passed away at 2.29am on April 24.
