Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Hajah Nancy Shukri to discuss programmes to empower women in Sabah.
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from Women , Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Hajah Nancy Shukri at his office at Menara Kinabalu, Monday.
During the meet, Nancy informed Hajiji about the programmes to empower women, especially in Sabah, that have been implemented by departments and agencies under her Ministry in the State.She said last year, her Ministry through the National Welfare Foundation implemented the Wanita Bangkit Programme which involved almost 2,000 Sabahan women and the Anti-Sexual Harassment Advocacy Programme under the Women’s Development Department , involving more than 1,000 women in the State.
For this year, she wants to further expand the Ministry’s services in Sabah especially to empower women.
