The series of events that ended with mall shoppers scrambling for safety Feb. 17 started with two groups of people.
One person was injured in a shooting at Castleton Square Mall on Feb. 17, 2023.last week that injured a teen, according to court records.
Surveillance cameras at the mall captured Wilson and his brother and the other group of men passing each other near an entrance. The two groups appeared to yell at each other in the video then Wilson took a gun from the waistband of his brother, the affidavit reads. All the men in the group outside the mall ran away, leaving behind a car key dropped on the ground, police said.
Wilson’s brother stated they went to the mall to return shoes and get some food. The confrontation started when the other group stared at them as they walked past, Wilson's brother said.Wilson was shot in the left thigh and treated at a hospital before he was transported to the Adult Detention Center.From January:Shooting followed by another gun arrest at the mall
