The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of all 23 local government chairmanship positions and 255 councilorship seats by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM) in the local government elections held across the state on Saturday.

While announcing the results, KAD-SIECOM Chairman, Hajara Mohammed, explained that eight political parties participated in the elections, and the APC emerged victorious in all contested positions in the council elections.
The 23 returning officers in the local government areas and 255 ward returning officers submitted their results in accordance with the law alongside the presiding officers. By the power vested in the commission, I hereby confirm the results earlier collected and returned by the returning officers.' In a related development, the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party , has rejected the Saturday council election results in Kaduna State, claiming that the exercise was not conducted.
