The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) has found that bribes paid to enforcement officers at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Free Trade Zone (FCZ) are estimated to reach RM6,000 per day. Bribes are paid based on the lorry category, ranging from RM150 for a one-ton lorry to RM750 for lorries over five tons. The investigation revealed a smuggling syndicate involving vape products, which has been operating since 2023. SPRM has seized vape products, computers, mobile phones, branded goods, and cash worth an estimated RM17.9 million. Fourteen individuals, including six customs officers and eight civilians, were arrested in Operation Airways.

“Lori-lori tersebut dilepaskan oleh pegawai-pegawai penguat kuasa di FCZ KLIA mempunyai pelbagai kesalahan terutamanya penyeludupan. Beliau berkata, pihaknya turut menggempur gudang utama digunakan sindiket selain sedang mengenal pasti lokasi-lokasi lain. Media semalam melaporkan SPRM menahan kira-kira 14 individu berusia 20 hingga 60-an melalui Op Airways di sekitar Lembah Klang dan Putrajaya, hasil risikan selama tiga bulan.
