POLICE waited a week before admitting that a vicious murderer had gone on the run from jail.
Thomas Parkinson, 31, was serving the final two years of a life term for stabbing a man to death at a party in 2006.Parkinson, then 19, was sentenced to serve a minimum of 12 years. He fled from Kirkham open prison in Lancs a week last Wednesday but police did not reveal the news for seven days.Lancs Police, who said they were “conducting address checks” before going public, warned that Parkinson “could be violent” and should not be approached.
Formerly of Preston, he is described as 5ft 7in tall, slim, and with brown hair and green eyes and has links to the Warrington, Widnes and Bolton areas.
