KUALA LUMPUR: The police will obtain the statement from a member of a non-governmental organisation involved in the 'Jom Ziarah Gereja' programme.

KUALA LUMPUR: The police will obtain the statement from a member of a non-governmental organisation involved in the"Jom Ziarah Gereja" programme.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said while the programme has been cancelled, they would still record the statement of the NGO member on Monday ."We will refer the matter to the Deputy Public Prosecutor once the investigation is completed," he told reporters after attending the High Profile Policing programme at Esplanade Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Sunday .

Meanwhile, on the 13 copies of the Quran which were found in a drain in Jinjang, Comm Azmi said the police had recorded the statements of 14 individuals. "However, we are still investigating to uncover who printed the Quran. We are also in the midst of identifying who dumped the Quran in such a manner," he said.A video of the incident went viral on TikTok.
