Police say they have received a report from the preacher claiming he had been slandered in an interview, a clip of which has gone viral.
SHAH ALAM: Police will call in rapper Caprice and Indonesian celebrity Mondy Tattoo soon to assist in investigations into a report made by preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, better known as Ebit Lew.
Selangor deputy police chief S Sasikala Devi said: “We have recorded his statement, but we also need to record the statements of the other two as they are witnesses to the case. “Once we complete investigations, the case will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.” Sasikala said the case was being investigated for defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code and misuse of network facilities under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
It was reported yesterday that police had received a complaint from Ebit, who alleged that he was slandered in a viral video “The Mondy Tattoo Interview” during which Mondy reportedly said Ebit had sexually harassed her earlier this year.
