IPOH: The police were forced to fire a shot to stop a car after it tried to ram into a police vehicle in Gerik .
Gerik OCPD Supt Zulkifli Mahmood said the car, with four men inside, had tried to speed away after being told to stop at about 3.40am on Tuesday . "We had earlier received a tip off regarding a communications cable theft incident at Kampung Padang Kunyit, Gerik. "We managed to track down the car the suspects were in and followed it until Jalan Ulu Kenderong-Tanjung Kala," he said in a statement today."One of our police cars tried to intercept them but the suspect was driving dangerously and tried to ram into the police vehicle.Supt Zulkifli said the police managed to arrest two men, while two others escaped.
The case is being investigated under Section 307/309 of the Penal Code, Section 39 of the Arms Act and Section 12 of the Dangerous Drugs Act.New Bill gives S'wak full regulatory power in environmental matters
