KUALA LUMPUR: Almost RM1mil worth of drugs were seized while five people were arrested following several raids in the Batu Caves and Jalan Ipoh areas.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department personnel arrested a 19-year-old man after stopping his car near Jalan Ipoh at 9.40am on April 22.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said police seized 3.4kg of ecstasy pills worth RM240,000 from the suspect's car."Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was involved in the distribution of ecstasy, Erimin 5 and ketamine since last October," he said when contacted on Monday .
He added that the suspect then led police to a house in Batu Caves on the same day , where an array of drugs were seized, including 2.5kg of Erimin 5 pills 2.6kg of ketamine, 221 ecstasy pills and 45.66g of syabu.Comm Mazlan said the police then raided a house in Taman Selayang Baru at 6.30pm and arrested three men and a woman aged between 26 and 31."One of the suspects admitted to being involved in drug trafficking with another man, who is still at large.
"The purchase and sale of drugs was conducted via social media and payment was made with cash upon delivery," he said."The drugs seized in all locations amounted to RM885,526.Comm Mazlan urged anyone with information to contact the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station.
