KOLKATA, (India): An Indian man on trial for raping and murdering a 31-year-old doctor has pleaded not guilty, his lawyer said Saturday (Dec 21), a crime that appalled the nation and triggered wide-scale protests.

IPOH : The police have ruled out foul play in the case of a 68-year-old man who was found dead in his home at Cherry Apartment here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said that there were no criminal elements found and the case would be investigated as sudden death. "We believe that the victim suffered from various ailments as various medications, including for high blood pressure, were found in the unit," he said on Saturday , adding that a post-mortem examination is being conducted.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said they received a call from the victim's nephew at about 11.10pm on Friday .
