IPOH: The police have arrested six men, believed to be involved in a fight, which was caught on video that went viral.
Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Razlam Ab Hamid said the six men, aged 19 to 37, were arrested after the police came across the viral video early on Thursday .
ACP Razlam said the fight was between the group of men and a 48-year-old man in front of the district health clinic at Jalan Tupai on Wednesday . "The victim has been treated at the Taiping Hospital. We also seized a rattan cane and a piece of wood believed to have been used in the fight during the arrest.ACP Razlam said two of the six men had prior crime cases.
"All of them are being remanded for four days to facilitate investigations under Section 148 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement. "The people are advised not to speculate on the matter, as it is still being investigated to prevent any unrest among the people," he added.
