PASIR GUDANG: Police detained a male foreigner for allegedly begging in a surau in Taman Dahlia near here and discovered RM2,500 in his possession.
Seri Alam acting OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Roslan Mohd Tahir said he was nabbed on Friday at 1.20pm following complaints from the public.
DSP Mohd Roslan added further investigation, and police also discovered a copy of identification documents from the suspect. DSP Mohd Roslan said the case was being investigated under Section 27 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for begging, which carries a fine of up to RM100 or imprisonment.
