JEMPOL: Police have arrested two suspects for having in their possession homemade air rifles and ball bearings at Felda Lui Selatan 2 near here.
Jempol deputy police chief Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said one of the suspects also admitted that he had made the two air rifles himself."We also seized 40 ball bearings and syabu from the suspects aged 25 and 30," he said in a statement.
Mohd Hafiz said the suspects were detained by a police narcotics team in a hut at a rubber smallholding around 2pm on Tuesday . He said police will apply for an order to remand the duo at the Bahau Magistrate's court on Wednesday . The case is being probed under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1950, which provides for a jail term of up to seven years and maximum fine of RM10,000 upon conviction.
The duo, believed to be drug addicts, will also be investigated under section 15 and 39A of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
