KULAI: After hiding at an oil palm plantation for six hours, a group of “mat rempit" finally gave in and surrendered themselves to the police here.
“During the operation at about 3am, most of the mat rempit ran to the plantation area hoping that there was an alternative way out - but all other routes had been blocked by the police. “They also could no longer withstand the heat in the plantation and were hungry too,” he said in a statement here on Sunday .
