GEORGE TOWN: Two married couples were among six arrested by police for allegedly breaking and stealing from token machines in shopping malls here.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the suspects, aged between 22 and 32, were arrested at Sungai Nibong during a special operation conducted by the district Criminal Investigation Department at about 10.30pm on Sunday .
ACP Soffian said that checks found that all suspects have criminal and drug records and one of the male suspects tested positive for drugs. ACP Sofffian said the group has been active since early this year and targeted token machines at shopping malls.
