Continuous Rain Expected to Hit Six Johor Districts

Six districts in Johor are expected to be hit by continuous rain throughout the day, prompting warnings from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

Continuous rain is expected to hit six districts in Johor throughout the day. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the areas affected are Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru. According to MetMalaysia, a warning level was issued at 8:30 am involving these areas. The public is advised to obtain the latest weather information through MetMalaysia's official website, myCuaca application and the department's official social media pages.

Currently, several districts in the state are experiencing floods and the number of flood victims continues to rise to 3,973 people from 1,113 families who have been relocated to 38 temporary evacuation centers (PPS) as of 8 am today. Johor Disaster Management Committee chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Azmi Rohani said the number increased compared to 3,779 victims from 1,023 families who were placed in 36 PPS at 4 pm yesterday. The affected districts are Kota Tinggi and Kulai, which recorded an increase in the number of victims, while the number of victims in Johor Bahru, Pontian and Kluang remained relatively unchanged
